When you use Continuity Camera, your Mac automatically connects to your iPhone® or iPad® and launches the Camera app. You take a picture, that picture is sent to your Mac, and the picture is inserted into your document. Continuity Camera has the seamless user interface for which Mac is justifiably famous. In Parallels Desktop 14, this all works with Windows applications with that same seamless interface.

Continuity Camera is a new feature in macOS, so it requires the latest versions of macOS, iOS, and Parallels Desktop. Specifically, the requirements are:
- macOS Mojave on your Mac
- iOS 12 on your iPhone or iPad
- Parallels Desktop 14
- Your iPhone or iPad must be registered to the same Apple ID®.
- Your iPhone or iPad must be on the same wireless network.
You also must be using a Windows application that can correctly handle photos. I successfully used Continuity Camera with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, WordPad, and Paint. As expected, it did not work with Sticky Notes or Edge (the new Microsoft browser) because those two applications do not enable you to paste in photos.
